In today’s business world the complexity of our operations, which could be both products and/or services, answering the phone in a knowledgeable and informative fashion is increasingly important. Meet STARTEK, providing technical support solutions since 1998, designed to meet clients ever changing needs. The Mansfield location is the largest of 13 North American locations with ~600 workers and a part of 11 other global locations distributed around the world. So, a caller who needs information about their BBQ grill or satellite TV service (to name a few) may be speaking with a Mansfield person.
Understanding the importance of good employee relations, STARTEK strives to give both meaning and purpose, to a job that may be a stepping stone on an individual’s career path. In each location the company has programs that are dedicated to improving and supporting the community they are a part of through direct involvement and volunteerism. Engaging employees gives a sense of belonging, which not only feels good, but improves absenteeism, lowers turnover and helps them be more productive. In addition to helping community, the employees take great pride in taking care of each other.
Imagine giving a no longer needed baby stroller to a fellow employee in need, paying ahead so another may have a lunch when money is short, and supervisors teaming up to wash employee’s cars. In 2018 the Mansfield employees donated to 24 different local charities a total of $34,660 and 1740 volunteer hours, plus other corporate contributions. Those organizations include, The Shelter (Domestic Violence), Richland County Humane Services, Mansfield Library Children’s Festival and St. Baldrick’s to name a few. In addition there is ‘Cheer Squad’, dedicated to bringing just a little silliness to the workplace. Remember, not only can you see, but just as easily, hear a smile!
