You may have recently read about the new local business grant program we are doing with ARPA Funds allocated by the Richland County Commissioners & the City of Mansfield. Here are more details for you:
The grant application is open on our website. We’ve made some changes from the previous funding programs, here are the highlights:
- Businesses must be in the Food & Beverage, Entertainment Venue, or Lodging & Tourism industries by their primary operations.
- Businesses must have been in operation on January 31, 2020 or prior
- Businesses must have experienced at least a 10% decline in revenues in 2020 or 2021, compared with 2019 due to the impacts of the pandemic (Nonprofits – we are looking at earned revenue)
- Businesses and Non-profits qualify
- There is no revenue or employment cap
- Grants will be awarded to qualifying businesses in the order they are received as long as funds remain
The grant amounts are $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000 depending on the size of the revenue loss. There are other eligibility requirements and exclusions, please read the full grant guidelines.
The application and full grant guidelines can be found here on our website. Applications will be taken through 4:00PM on Monday, January 31, 2022. Grants will be awarded to qualifying businesses in the order they are received as long as funds remain
This Round is currently being funded with $950,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) being given by Richland County as well las $300,000 from the ARPA funds given by the City of Mansfield.
Unlike previous local grant rounds, applications will be reviewed as they are received so we encourage businesses to apply as soon as they are able to. It is important to note that we do expect to receive more applications than we can fund. If, however, additional money becomes available we will go back to the submitted applications to award funding in the order they were received. There is no additional round of this program currently planned so we encourage all eligible businesses to apply.
