With a whopping 60+ acres of parkland, the Village of Lexington designates its local recreation to various outdoor activities such as picnicking, trail walking, volleyball, tennis, skateboarding, soccer, and overall playground fun. In addition to Lexington’s parks, the nearby Clear Fork Reservoir provides additional recreation on the water. A little less than a half hour from Lexington lies the rural town of Lucas, Ohio which is home to one of the most prominent parks in Ohio: the Malabar Farm State Park. With options ranging from rental pavilions/cabins for special events all the way to quiet, country park fields, there is something in Lucas’s and Lexington’s outdoor spaces to suit every visitor!

Lexington’s Community Park:

Includes 30 acres of focused outdoor activity including ball fields, soccer fields, playground equipment, sand volleyball courts, and picnic pavilions. Rent out the sizeable pavilion and/or Boy Scout cabin for special occasions. The park also comes alive during the annual summer Blueberry Festival which entertains indulgent fair foods, blueberry-themed dishes, live music, carnival rides, vendors, pageants, parades, and much more. – Plymouth Street, Lexington, OH 44904  

Patriot Park in Lexington, OH:

Directly across the way from Lexington’s Community Park, skaters, soccer players, and picnickers alike will enjoy this expansive 47.5 acre park. During the summer and fall months, soccer goals line the open field for practices and games. Go for an afternoon stroll along the recently established ¾ mile trail which scenically lines both the Clear Fork river and a new playground. The riverside trail also includes 5 river access points complete with picnic tables. Adjacent to the soccer fields is a fenced skate park complete with quarter pipe ramps, skate rails, and more. Bicentennial Park:

Resting alongside the Clear Fork Mohican River, this 27 acre park is another great option for all-inclusive outdoor fun. The park includes picnic facilities, playground equipment, tennis courts, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. Clear Fork Reservoir:

With 997 surface acres of water, this reservoir provides a placid escape with recreation such as fishing, boating, camping, hiking, hunting, and picnicking all within designated areas.  Rent out boats from the marina or even rent dock spaces seasonally. Controlled fishing and occasional fishing tournaments occur at the reservoir where you can catch local species such as white bass, bluegill, yellow perch, channel catfish, and more. Malabar Farm State Park:

This beautiful, historical landmark encapsulates the rural heart of Lucas with features like farmhouse tours, hiking trails, camping areas, educational park exhibits, and seasonal park events. From the peacefully picturesque Ferguson Meadow to the charming, Western-Reserve style, 32 room Bromfield farmhouse, the tours capture the workings behind the state-renowned park from high to low. Running through the park’s acreage are also 3 moderate pedestrian trails and 1 moderate bridle trail.  The park’s equestrian-friendly camping areas provide a longer stay through 15 different sites all equipped with fire rings, picnic tables, drinking water, and restrooms. — 4050 Bromfield Road, Lucas, OH, 44843
