Strategic Plan

In the fall of 2021, the Boards of Directors for the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce and Richland Community Development Group engaged the services of Cathi Hight, of Hight Performance Group to assist them in drafting a new four-year joint strategic plan to set the direction of both organizations. A series of surveys were completed with Chamber Members, community leaders, and the Boards and staff members of both organizations. The Boards and staff members of both organizations met for a day-long retreat to set the strategic direction of the affiliated organizations.

The goal was simple: we wanted to develop a plan that would help guide our work through 2025 by responding to the most significant needs of our community.

With extensive input from our members and other community leaders, and after careful consideration, the framework to guide all three organizations through 2025 was officially adopted in January 2022.

The plan’s main focus areas are:

  • Foster Economic Strength – through advocating for economic diversity, growth, and resiliency.
  • Cultivate Quality Talent – through advocating for an environment where businesses successfully develop, recruit, and retain an agile workforce.
  • Champion Community Excellence – through advocating for Richland County to be the premier place to live, work and raise a family.

We know that achieving these goals will require strong leadership, dedication, commitment, and broad collaboration from all three organizations. And we know that if we work together as one voice speaking up for what matters most in our community—we can make Richland County the BEST place to live, learn, work, and play in Ohio!

We invite you to look at the plan and share it with others interested in joining this vital work. We believe our future opportunities are strong, and we look forward to partnering with you to help make them a reality!

Strategic Priority Areas

Three strategic priority areas were identified to guide the Chamber & RCDG in our work from 2022-2025. Those areas are identified in the chart below.
