LeaderRichland
LeaderRichland inspires 7th- and 8th-grade students to discover career pathways in north central Ohio. Founded in 2012 by Ohio State Representative Marilyn John, LeaderRichland is an annual event of Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development, North Central State College, and The Ohio State University at Mansfield. 7th and 8th-grade students have the opportunity to explore the NCSC/OSU-Mansfield campus and meet with area professionals in multiple career fields including education, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, skilled trades, technology, professional services, and more. LeaderRichland encourages young people to pursue higher education and find careers they are passionate about in Richland County. Each year this program rotates between young boys and girls, with even years being for boys and odd years for girls.
Schools
The event is designed for schools to send their entire 7th- and 8th-grade class of girls on odd years and boys on even years. Register your school for this year’s event on May 15, 16 and 19, 2025.
Speakers
Individuals working for a north central Ohio organization can apply to be a speaker. This is an opportunity to inspire middle school students and help develop your future workforce. Applications will be accepted through Feb 28, 2025.
Sponsors
Sponsorships give organizations an opportunity to invest in the program while receiving promotional benefits. Sponsorships range from $300 to $2,500.
I think my biggest motivator today has been seeing and meeting these people who have followed their dreams the whole way through.
Mason Erlembach, Richland Academy of the Arts, Class of 2028
