Students are invited to explore a wide range of aviation-related careers from flying planes or drones, to avionics, FAA flight control, wildlife management, plus many more!

KMFD Air Traffic Control
A VFR (Visual Flight Rules) air traffic control tower primarily manages aircraft operations within its controlled airspace, ensuring safe and orderly takeoffs, landings, and taxiing. Controllers provide clearances, instructions, and advisories to pilots to avoid collisions and optimize traffic flow. They also coordinate with other towers and agencies to facilitate smooth transitions between different airspaces and handle any emergency situations that arise.

The Northeast Ohio Flight Information Exchange (NEOFIX) is a program for local government and public safety agencies to post information for each other and drone operators which keep the airspace open, secure, and safe.
USDA Wildlife Services
Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), provides Federal leadership and expertise to resolve wildlife conflicts that threaten the Nation’s agricultural and natural resources, human health and safety, and property. Birds and other wildlife can pose significant threats to both human safety and property when they appear near airports. Through a balanced effort of research and wildlife management, WS biologists work to reduce the risk of wildlife-caused damage to U.S. aviation.
